Arts Students Help Save Snow Leopards

Snow Leopard Conservancy has been the recipient of a donation from the students and faculty of the 2003 Centauri Summer Arts Camp.

Centauri Arts (http://www.centauri.on.ca/) is an exceptional summer arts camp located near Niagara, Canada that provides art instruction and summers full of artistic fun for children and teenagers from all over the world. They also offer Adult Arts Retreats. Young participants in the Summer Arts Camp receive instruction and are given opportunities to practice a wide array of arts including music, writing, acting, dance and much more.

Respect for the natural world is also taught at Centauri. Last summer, student Ilan Mann gave a talk to the camp about four different endangered animals then had the students vote on which one they wanted to try to help. His dorm then collected money for the fund. Some children donated some of their “tuck money,” and staff also contributed. On the last day of contributions, the school doubled the money raised by the children. The result of all that addition was that the Snow Leopard Conservancy received a four hundred-dollar donation.

A very grateful thank you to Ilan Mann and the students, faculty and staff of Centauri Arts!
