Mount Kailash
This legendary snow-shrouded rock dome, at 22,028 feet (6,714 meters), is revered by four different religions as one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in Asia, believed by many to be the spiritual center of the universe. Each year hundreds or thousands of pilgrims walk around the mountain, an act which is said to erase the sins of a lifetime. The 32-mile circuit also provides a good chance of seeing wildlife.
