Tsering Padma

Tsering Padma comes from the village of Wakha, to the west of Leh near Kargil. Having participated in the Snow Leopard Conservancy’s teacher training in conservation education, Padma gained experience by visiting schools in Hemis National Park and conducting hands-on activities with the children. She received her MA (Sociology) at Punjab University in 2003 and now teaches primary school in her home village. Padma remains involved as a volunteer in SLC-India’s education program, which she feels has helped her reach her goal of becoming a good and inspiring teacher.
